I'm having a (basically) unplanned weekend this weekend. I'm giving blood on Sunday, but otherwise, I'm taking it easy. I did finally mail my Thanksgiving cards out (late, damn cold) though. And I took a pic of my hair.
I think I'll probably play around with my site this weekend though I really want to get someone to make us some logo/header/whatever they're called images.
I hope we'll put up the new mailbox, but if not, it's ok.
Here are yesterday's sunrise/morning pictures. As crazy at it sounds, I missed seeing the sunrise while I was sick. I'm glad I got all that sleep and I wouldn't turn down the extra sleep another day, but seeing the sunrise in the morning before work is a very peaceful thing for me.
We had a lot of fun at Bill and Gina's tonight. Also, I realized that I really enjoy seeing the sunrise (but wouldn't mind if it happened a little later in the day). I took a bunch of pictures today and will upload them tomorrow.
I'm not sure what else we're doing this weekend (other than I'm donating blood on Sunday), but it will be low-keyed as I'd like to keep from having this cold hang around any longer than necessary.
Tomorrow will be the first day I've been back to work since Monday. Happily the NYSE closes at 1pm Eastern (11am here), so I suspect my New York counterparts will want to escape shortly after the market closes. I have some stuff to catch up on since I was out Tues & Wed, but it should be a very quiet day in the office.
Hmm... It's 11pm. I guess I should go to bed soon since I'm getting up in 6.5 hrs.
Tonight I watched the Special Edition Beauty and the Beast. That's long been a favorite of mine especially since they were busy animating it when I went to DisneyWorld last time ('92). Anyway, the new song and scene were wonderful. And they've done a fantastic job restoring and remastering it.
Brad watched a little bit of it while he had dinner, but escaped right before the new scene. Silly man!
I'm off to bed so I can go out and play tomorrow! G'night!
I'm actually starting to feel better. I'm happy because Brad and I were invited over to Bridget's for Thanksgiving and I would have been disappointed if we couldn't make it.
See, Bridget is a friend of mine, who I got to know because she does my nails. Last Thanksgiving I'd sent Brad off to visit with his parents over the holiday and Bridget heard I was home by myself and invited me over to spend the day with her family. We had a really nice time. So this year, knowing that we don't have any family out here, she invited both of us to come over.
On Friday, we've been invited over to Gina and Bill's for dinner. And we might go see Harry Potter with Jim and Scott that day too. So I'm really hoping that the antibiotics chase this evil thing out of my body and fast!
And the turkey breast in the freezer will keep. I'll make that next weekend for us.
1. Stuffing: baked inside the turkey, or separately? Out-of-bird, please. 2. Fresh or frozen turkey? Either. I think I've mostly had frozen turkeys though. Actually, when it's just the 2 of us, we have a turkey breast so I don't even have to deal with a whole turkey. 3. Cranberry sauce: jellied or whole berry? Whole berry! Mmm! 4. Stay home or visit friends/relatives? Either is fine with me. 5. Do you cook Thanksgiving dinner, or let someone else do it? I cook. 6. Traditional turkey dinner, or an alternative (such as vegetarian)? Traditional. :) 7. Regular potatoes or sweet potatoes? Sweet! But I like regular potatoes too. 8. Homemade gravy, or the jarred stuff? I inherited my mom's lack of gravy making ability, so jarred for me. 9. What part of the turkey do you prefer...dark or white meat? White. 10. After dinner: football or Christmas movies? Movies in general.
