From the True Desktop Project site:
"TDP is collection of images from computer users, who are interested in providing the cyber-world with a glimpse into their very own true desktop workspace. I believe that this project will finally allow users to step into the clandestine universe of individual computer users and see what they use when they power on their computers."
I just sent in the picture of my home office desk (from when it was cleaned up). It needs a cleanin' again. Maybe Saturday.
Anyway, it's a cool project - you get to snoop at people's desks and they never even know (reminds me of the Christmas tree blog).
Update: My eyes are ok. This is how they've always been. I never had eye surgery as a kid. There really isn't anything to fix (except maybe get Lasik/etc done on my good eye). Otherwise, my eyes are healthy as ever.
I really like my new eye doctor. (Thanks for the referral, Clara!)
It turns out that this is what's going on with my right eye: Amblyopia secondary to Anisometropia.
Basically it means that I have a lazy eye that also has a severe astigmatism. I knew about the lazy eye part but the severe astigmatism was new to me. But since my brain doesn't get (accept more likely) images from that eye, nothing's changed in that regard. It's nice to know exactly what it is though.
We did talk about eye surgery for my "good eye", but I'm still not rushing anything. The problem with my good eye is that it's -11 diopters (contact Rx) and it's getting harder and harder to find contacts that are comfortable and the right strength. As long as I can wear contacts and buy them, I'll stick with them.
Well, I finally got around to getting this set up.
I've added an image to the bottom of my main page as well as set up a monthly archive of the images (idea gotten from Kymberlie). The link in the "stuff about me" section of the sidebar.
Oh, the archive page was done using MTOtherBlog and MTBlogTimes together.
I currently have one thing to do: eye doctor appointment. I might have another thing to do if Claudia doesn't find other helpers tomorrow, I'll be making a trip or two to help her move the last of her stuff to storage/her sis's/her friend's.
So I'm gonna be working on my blog and reading my PHP books.
Update: I'm a bum! I slept for 10 whole hours. Guess I musta needed it.
1. Kleenex or tissue? Kleenex, but I only buy Kleenex brand tissues anyway. 2. Soda or pop (or tonic or whatever)? Soda but the locals say pop. 3. A sandwich on a long roll: sub or hero (or hoagie or grinder, etc)? hoagie or sub. 4. Glasses or spectacles? Glasses. 5. TV or television (or boob-tube, or telly, for our friends across the pond)? TV. 6. Movie or film? Movie. 7. Sofa or couch? Couch. 8. Stove or range? Stove. 9. Remote control or clicker? Remote. 10. Supermarket or grocery store? When I first moved to Colorado, I used to say "food store" but I got so much crap from my friends ("Ya know, they sell more than just food there"), that now I saw grocery store.
Heather of Dooce runs a very cool site. Apparently a lot of people think so too. Anyway, Earthlink just surprised her with a huge bill and she's asking a hand in paying it off. If you can, she's appreciate the help. She's a great writer.
