No, this isn't one of her posts...
Grishka and I have come to an agreement. He'll fuss a little bit but let me give him his 1/2 pill at night. Without spitting it out a zillion times.
He's still peeing on the floor, but it seems less frequent than before. (Looking for the positive, people.)
Both cats love the water fountain. Sometimes I catch them sitting near it and watching it. So cute.
And they seem to like the Science Diet stuff so I keep adding it to their bowl every day.
I wasn't able to find the links I'd found previously talking about the evils of Science Diet, but I'm still uneasy feeding it to them. I mean, I was feeding them Flint River: "Low Ash and Magnesium are important in the prevention of Feline Urological Syndrome (FUS). Flint River Ranch Feline Formula has less than 4.5% ash content and 0.08% of Magnesium. This promotes low urinary pH and helps prevent FUS."
Anyway, I'm hoping that the meds will clear up whatever problems my boy has and the floor-peeing will stop. *fingers crossed*
Link about FUS.
So I went to get ready for bed to discover a drip from the vent in my master bathroom ceiling. After looking around a bit, I figured that it was worse than I first thought (so after knocking on the neighbors' door at 11 pm and asking if their tub was overflowing and then calling Brad to bitch), I called the emergency maintenance line.
The guy showed up a little after midnight and told me that they'd been in the apartment upstairs today and didn't turn off the supply line to the refrigerator. Which explains why there were wet spots on the ceiling, wall and baseboard.
We heard the upstairs neighbors walking around so he knocked on the door (guess they'll love me now) and went up to turn off the supply line.
He's pretty sure everything should be dried out by Monday. If so, he'll come back, treat the walls and ceiling and repaint (the baseboard too).
I'm off to try to sleep with the annoying dripping sound now. Oh happy day.
Update: The dripping stopped sometime in the night. This morning I noticed that it looks like it leaked down behind my fridge too.
A young man married a beautiful woman who had previously divorced ten husbands. On their wedding night, she told her new husband, "Please be gentle; I'm still a virgin."
"What?" said the puzzled groom. "How can that be if you've been married ten times?"
"Well, husband #1 was a Sales Representative; he kept telling me how great it was going to be.
Husband #2 was in Software Services; he was never really sure how it was supposed to function, but he said he'd look into it and get back to me.
Husband #3 was from Field Services; he said everything checked out diagnostically but he just couldn't get the system up.
Husband #4 was in Telemarketing; even though he knew he had the order, he didn't know when he would be able to deliver.
Husband #5 was an Engineer; he understood the basic process but wanted three years to research, implement, and design a new state-of-the-art method.
Husband #6 was from Administration; he thought he knew how, but he wasn't sure whether it was his job or not.
Husband #7 was in Marketing; although he had a product, he was never sure how to position it.
Husband #8 was a psychiatrist; all he ever did was talk about it.
Husband #9 was a gynecologist; all he did was look at it.
Husband #10 was a stamp collector; all he ever did was...God, I miss him!
But now that I've married you, I'm so excited!"
"Good," said the husband, "but, why?"
"You're with the Government. This time I KNOW I'm gonna get SCREWED!"
I'm having the weirdest problem with an MT blog I'm trying to set up for a friend. Since she had a brand new installation, I set up her main blog using the PHP stuff. And then tried to create a second blog using the Perl MT stuff. But it won't write the archives. Ever.
So I converted her first blog back to Perl and still no archives on the second blog but she has archives for the primary blog.
Any clue what's going on? I've checked and rechecked all of her config stuff and am not seeing it. :(
Update: I had broken MT tags in her individual archive and once I figured that out, her archives work. Whew!
Mari, adi's other half, has started blogging. Go say hi to her.
I'm definitely looking forward to her posts because she has a lovely way with words.
Update: She's got more posts up there and you can leave comments.
And! Jim finally got himself a blog!
I got my January vacation time approved. A good chunk of it will be spent in the Boston area. I'm off from Jan 17 through the 26th. As soon as I figure out when I'll actually be in Boston, I'll let you know.
It's just nice to know that I got the time approved.
Update: Part of this trip is for Arisia '05. It's a for-fun thing as well as a help-a-friend-with-his-business thing. The rest of the time is to see family and friends.
