I took pictures with an actual camera. I'm almost done hanging things on the walls. Almost. I have to get the prints from my goodbye present from my co-workers in Colorado reframed. Then I can hang that above my desk.
Last night was my night to hang out with Suzanne, my former roommate. I went to her place since I'm still without job and can leave home early and avoid rush hour traffic. Our goal last night was to help her lessen the clutter in her new bedroom and put some stuff on the walls so she didn't have naked walls anymore!
Before we started, we were talking and she gestured at her nightstand (which was crowded and had a pile of stuff sitting on the floor near it). She said she needed a bigger nightstand. I laughed and said "Well, I have one in my car!". So now I have her smaller nightstand in my car (never know when you'll need a nightstand *wink*) and she has a more organized bedside table. With drawers!
Because we lived together for almost 4 years, we're very good at communicating without using a lot of words. Together, we went through a bunch of her boxes and condensed them to fewer, hung some of her art on the walls and talked about shelving options for more of her stuff. Sometimes she'd just gesture at something and I'd grab it and hand it to her, causing her to smile. It was good to spend time with her again. I forgot how well we work together.
I've been busily unpacking since the group who helped move me left yesterday. I got a TON done (see pictures in previous post) and then fell down and went boom. Except that I had "ack! sleeping in a new place!" brain and was restless (and my allergies were happy to tell me that we'd disturbed a bit of dust). Anyway, a couple more nights in my new room and I should be fine.
Today I hung pictures on the wall. I have more to hang, but my shoulders said it was time to stop. I also got all of my bathroom stuff organized.
There's a big pile of stuff to be sorted through in my room and downstairs in the foyer, but that was expected. At least the piles are tidy and the only extra thing still in the living room (besides the empty, flat boxes) is my a/c.
Jenn'll be home tomorrow night so I'll get better pictures on Tuesday.
It'll stop being Lisa's journal of moving soon. Really. :)
