Life with my Pre

PLUSES:

• G'cal with me all the time! And not just mine - every calendar that I can view online.
• Love the messaging interface
• Wonderful camera/pics
• Geekiness of changing the txt notification sound via Linux command line
• Gorgeous screen
• Compact
• Some nifty apps (things that they have on the iPhone like "find food near me")
• Internets in my pocket! (browsing on the Treo was Meh at best)

MINUSES:

• No password program I love found yet (I'm keeping my Treo at work until I can move my passwords over)
• No solitaire?!
• No categories for my contacts (not horrible but still miss it)
• Don't always hit the right letters when typing
• Easy to play with the phone for longer than I realize ;)
• No pre-fab messages to pick from for texting
• Unable to open a big PDF, TXT or DOC file (around 1M) - file size problem? character set? I have 2 stories I want to read and can't though
• Birthdays seem to be off by one in 2010 and right in 2009.

Overall I'm very happy though! (I haven't played with cut/paste much yet.)

Busy days!

I still love my new job. My desk is no longer quite so empty and tidy. I'll have to take a picture sometime and upload it.

My Treo 755p had been misbehaving a lot lately so I've replaced it with a Palm Pre. I love almost everything about my Pre. I am sad that my contacts are no longer categorized. And it doesn't seem like there's a sync app that comes with the Pre though I found The Missing Sync and might get it. If you have any feedback on that, please let me know! I'd like to be able to keep Outlook in sync with my phone.

Also, I need a password program to keep my passwords with me. I found SplashID, but it seems like I'll have to key everything on the Pre. I'd much rather use my keyboard. [Google shows that I can create a CSV file and import it to SplashID, so that's helpful. I do like the program I had on the Treo (Passwords Plus) which let me look at the passwords from my computer or phone.]
