I visited my brother, sis-in-law and niece yesterday. Mostly to go swap cars with my brother since mine is an automatic and his has a manual transmission (and he had knee surgery on his left knee so shifting is not on the list of approved activities yet). I had realized that I was out of lip balm, but my niece is a lip balm maniac, so I asked her if she would share one (a new one) with me. She said she would, so my sis-in-law got out the stash of Chapsticks.
I had the choice of Princesses or Tigger. I picked Bouncin' Berry Lip Balm (Tigger).
Yay for sweet nieces who share. :)
Last night I had dinner with Brad's parents. We may be divorced, but we're all still family. His mom and stepfather were so happy to see me (and I them). The two of them looked great and it was wonderful to visit over a nice meal. (They were in town for a wedding.) They're going to send me photos of their cranberry and white room, and of Jean's tractor. I can't wait.
When we were saying our goodbyes, they said I'll always be their daughter and that I can visit them any time I want in Michigan. I'll always have a bed at their place. I sniffled my way back to my car and then drove off.
My stepbro really knows how to throw a party. Everyone had a great time and had plenty to eat. He got the main meal (lasagna) catered along with a chicken pesto salad and tortellini salad, but he made almost everything else!
We cleaned up a lot of the house, but he'll be busy with dishes for a while. Poor guy. Drew's boss had a funeral wreath sent to the house (in retaliation for Drew doing the same thing for her last year — but he sent it to the office).
It was fun to see all of the various cousins who I haven't seen for ages. Anyway, it may be nap time. ;) All that sun, food and socializing makes me sleepy.
Tomorrow after work, I head to the airport to go visit my dad and stepmom. I'll get to see my stepbro and his partner as well (been a while!).
At least they reopened the state!
I'm looking forward to this trip! Oops, time to run to my massage. :)
So my stepbro is having a garden party in July and Dad and Cathy won't be making it to MA in July (and also didn't make it out in May) so I'm going there! I'll be leaving here Friday, July 7th after work and leaving there Monday after work (and, of course, working on Saturday as usual). But it'll be from Dad and Cathy's house and that'll be wonderful!
My niece has noticed that both E and I have our toenails painted and that I have my nails painted and has been asking lately if she can have her toes and nails painted too.
Here she is getting her toes done by her mom:
Today was the day that Mom and Bill were heading up to Nova Scotia for their yearly summering trip. We all met up at my brother and sis-in-law's house and then headed to dinner at Carrabba's (yay, air conditioning!). Dinner was tasty and everyone was pleasant. My niece was a riot eating her angel hair pasta. She'd twirltwirltwirl it and then hold the fork with way too much pasta up to her face and eat a little bit of it. And then put the rest back and start again.
I do hope this front makes the temps drop like the weather people are predicting. I wasn't quite ready to have to put my a/c in the window yet (I only have 1 window in my room). But this was better than the high temps that I had earlier today (my room is the warmest room in the apartment - winter and summer)!
More good news from my stepmom on Dad's second procedure:
Procedure is done and things seems to be fine. The reason they couldn't do this artery two weeks ago is because the problem was located in the area where the artery splits into a "Y". The procedure today cleared the clog on one side of the "Y" and cleared and placed the stent on the other side of the "Y".
Now if she would be in less pain, then things would be pretty good indeed!
