Bronchitis

Dear body,

I'm sorry that I didn't more aggressively react to the sudden attack of post-nasal drip and that made you angry. And then I got a sinus infection followed up by antibiotics. That dried out my ears and my head, but 1.5 weeks later I was still coughing. The doctor decided that I have bronchitis+asthma so now I'm drowning you in Prednisone and Augumentin for 10 days. I'll also be eating a lot of yogurt to try to avoid the possible side effects of antibiotics. :p

Anyway, I hope that you're happier in 9 days because I'm tired of coughing.

That was a doozy!

Last Thursday night I went to bed at normal time (around 11), but woke at 4 am feeling really queasy. I got up and proceeded to throw up. Rar. I went back to bed, but was still feeling woozy. Eventually I went to my own bed because I could tell that I wasn't done being sick. It turned out that I had a really bad stomach bug and didn't manage to eat anything until dinner on Friday (white rice with a little butter) so I could take ibuprofen (I had a fever of 101 when I got around to checking it). And then I went back to bed. Until Saturday at 10 am. I woke up from time to time during this crazy 35 hour stretch, but not for longer than 30 minutes. I was awake until about 10 pm on Saturday and then slept until 8 on Sunday.

I hope that doesn't happen again for a long time!

Still exercising

So I kept up the walking through the whole month of Feb. On average, 3 days a week. I'm working on upping that average. Anyway, since I stuck with it, I decided it was time to get exercised bras. (Exciting, eh?) They're pretty comfy except for the seam in the back. But definitely better than wearing an old underwire bra.

My weight hasn't changed, but I feel like I have more energy in the mornings. That's part of what gets me motivated to drive into work an hour early. 

Re: my IPod. Brad told me how to set it so it would bookmark each track. I've finally figured out that while it might reset itself to track one when I charge it, if I find the track I was on, it picks up again where I was. So win! And with one iPod. The new (refurbished, bright pink 16G) iPod because the old one decided it was no longer interested in talking to any computer other than to charge.

I have to load more music and books on it. Right now I just have the 2 books that I got in a couple weeks ago. But I'm excited that I can swap between music and books. Thank you, Brad!

Shhh!

So about 2 weeks ago I started exercising regularly. I've been pretty lame about it and got to the point where I was ready to do something. I get up at 6 am most week mornings, get dressed, and head to the office. There's a small exercise room with 2 treadmills, 2 of the easier on your knees walking things, a stationary bike and a weight machine. So far, I've just been walking. And because I was afraid of walking too much the first day, I started out at 15 minutes on an easy pace (plus cooldown time). I'm walking 30 mins at a fast pace now. I need to adjust my heart rate higher next.

Anyway, it's been nice. As a reward, I'm gonna get myself some exercise bras soon. And I might get a second iPod so I can have books on one and music on the other (if they share, you can't easily switch from a book to music and back again because you can't jump to the right spot in the book). We'll see.

I figured I'd kept it up long enough that I could mention it. :)

Blood for coffee

Last week, I had my yearly gyno exam and allergist visit (to review my allergy shot treatment and order new serums). This week, I got a physical, bloodwork and have a dentist appointment today. BUSY! Instead of getting my blood drawn yesterday (midday), I talked to the doctor and got to go this morning (after fasting). Hopefully my cholesterol numbers will be happier for it.

Because my brain knew that I couldn't have breakfast until after the bloodwork, I got to have weird dreams. I dreamt that I ate a Skittles. Just one. And then got all worried that I'd throw the bloodwork off. I don't even eat Skittles all that often, so I'm not sure why my brain picked them. Weird brain. I'm feeding it coffee now. ;)

Whoda thunk?

So it turns out that having Twitter send my tweets to Facebook is keeping me more in touch with people I care about but who don't use Twitter. For example, I get comments from my dad and step-mom all the time! It's like a wonderful gift, this crazy Facebook thing. Except for the whole confusing interface thing. :p I didn't expect that at all.

Also, I have another cold. At least it's just a cold and doesn't seem to be bronchitis AGAIN. Still, I'd be ok having less winter in my winter now. Please?

This is going to be a busy month for me. Lots of busy evenings and fun stuff to do on the weekends. Plus I'm going to be moving (changing towns, not states or time zones) during April, so I need to start thinking about getting boxes and going through my stuff again. At least I don't have all that much. Not like when I left Colorado!

Also, the second, happy late birthday to Kilsey and happy early on time! birthday to Gina! I miss you both.

Huh. Well, hi!

May 2009 be gentle to you and bring you lots of joy. May it also bring me less sickness as I'm _done_ with being sick. Done, I say! (And feeling better, thank you!) On the mend

Due to a combination of a Z-pak and kick ass cough syrup, I'm doing a LOT better today. Yesterday, I managed to work for 4 hours. And then promptly napped for 2.25ish hours. Today I'm trying for a full day (of work). *fingers crossed*

The crud from hell

Yup, I'm still sick. It's moved into my lungs so I get to start antibiotics today. And kick ass cough syrup.
