Friday Fill-ins - The end of the year

1. Wait, wait _what a year this has been_.

5. At the end of the year, I like to _wish the old year good riddance and welcome the new one in with hope_.
6. _A new job_ is one of the things I'm looking forward to in 2012.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to _dinner with friends_, tomorrow my plans include _celebrating that NYE thing_ and Sunday, I want to _drive to VT for lunch_!

Happy weekend, Janet and everyone else! The weather is gorgeous. There's some good news brewing in my future (sorry to be vague, but I hope to have more info next week). My stepbrother and his partner got a pair of kittens who are a bundle of fluffy love. Life is good.

2. _HP6 and Star Trek_ was the last good book I read or movie I saw or tv show I watched. (Monk starts up again soon. Glee isn't out yet. Books have been ok, but not really gripping lately.)

3. Everything has its beauty but _some things are better enjoyed from afar (some flowers, for example)_.

4. _An Italian sub_ is what I had for dinner.

5. I'd like your _good wishes for my health and I'll give you the same_.

6. _Where I am_ is where I want to be right now.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to _helping September pack_, tomorrow my plans include _moving September's stuff and a birthday party in the evening_ and Sunday, I want to _veg_!

In other news, my stepbrother and his partner moved into their new housing and are getting comfy there. The family visit was good - I didn't make it whale watching, but they saw a *bunch* of whales, so yay! Tomorrow I might get the boxes of stuff that I mentioned previously. I'm curious what's in there! I had a pre-phone screen today. Hopefully they like my resume and call back again. There were a bunch of other jobs I applied for this week that seemed like good fits so I'm thinking good thoughts about them all.

Other stuff (bullets seemed easier to read):

• My allergies haven't been horrible lately even though I'm still not back at the maintenance dosage on my shots yet. My fibroids are still present and accounted for (I had a gyno appointment this week).
• My dad and stepmom are visiting this weekend and we have a bunch of fun stuff scheduled.
• I've been helping friends paint their new house as well as move into it.
• I've moved into the room that Mary was in at our apartment (she moved out) and have a bunch of art on the walls, but not everything. Things aren't sticking well to this wallpaper. :p
• I haven't seen Terry and the girls at all this week and that's a bummer, though I got the CUTEST text message from L (the 5 year old).
• I have boxes to pick up from my friend's house (my boxes that I stored there a couple years ago) -- it should be a bit like Xmas for me. And then a small pile of stuff to move into a storage unit in anticipation of our new housemate moving in.
• My stepbrother and his partner lost their house and 4 pets to a house fire. They're both fine, but devastated about the pets.
• It's already August. How'd that happen?

Quick update and Friday Fill-ins

The first was my brother's birthday - happy birthday, brother! The seventh was when my mom had surgery on her right hand for carpal tunnel (left hand is in August). Today is when my stepfather has surgery. A dear friend of mine lost his father last night. Another friend of mine (who I don't get to see very often even though we're local to each other) is battling some serious health shit (tm). And somehow the sun is out and the skies are blue. Here's hoping things get better for all of us. And soon.
